Changemakers in Finance: Evening Masterclass

March 26, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Do you have an idea for a project that could transform finance for the better from within your organisation?

At times it can feel isolating, overwhelming and like you’re not clear what step to take next. You could really do with a space for thinking, practical tools and support.

This evening masterclass has been designed with you in mind.

Join 20 fellow financial innovators who are creating positive change in finance to build on your ideas, learn new tools and techniques and gain clarity about the way forward.

Through this masterclass you will:

– Take a step back and look at the big picture of finance and its role in society and the environment
– Use Finance Matters’ Purpose Mapping Canvas to get clear on what change you’re trying to create and how you will do it
– Walk away able to clearly articulate what your idea is and how it creates the change you hope to see in finance
– Connect with likeminded changemakers and build your network of support

This workshop has been designed to be particularly useful for those planning to enter Young Banker of the Year 2019. Facilitator Anna Laycock is a previous judge of the competition. The workshop will help you refine your idea and clearly communicate its potential in your Young Banker application.

We’re thrilled to be holding this masterclass at Green Lab, a 100% sustainably-built innovation space focused on radically transforming the food system. Just like Finance Matters, Green Lab incubates the people and ideas that have society and the environment at their heart. During the masterclass we’ll have the opportunity to learn from Green Lab on what natural ecosystems can teach us about redesigning our financial system.

“What the Lab fundamentally gives is hope. It’s where people like me come to believe there’s a better future for finance. It’s where we find each other and support each other to make that future a reality.”
Julia Groves
Head of Crowdfunding, Downing LLP and Former CEO, Trillion Fund

“Seeking to bring genuine social purpose to finance, the Lab offers both philosophical and practical alternatives, successfully bringing civil society and industry perspectives together to seek, define and pilot radical solutions.”
